À qui le tour?

pays : Cameroun

Presentation

À qui le tour? is a dance solo which interrogates the body and mind of each person faced with the loss of a loved one. Through exploring the different stages of the mourning process, Agathe Djokam Tamo goes from shock to anger, from memory to depression before reaching acceptance and rebirth. In this performance dedicated to the passing of her father and sister, the choreographer and dancer attempt not only to share her pain but also to face up to their own anxieties.

The dance is enriched with texts, music and a few simple elements, such as wood ashes that are enough to invoke the past. In making the mourning process a bodily experience, Agathe Djokam Tamo, like her compatriot Zora Snake, who presented Transfrontalier at the Festival in 2017, takes over a public space to speak about a topic which is both universal and intimate at the same time.
